Just a couple of years ago Firefox was a little open-source browser made by a group of enthusiast without any influence of big companies like Microsoft.
The browser market share was growing very fast thanks to it brilliant features and a great user experience. It's becoming a major competitor for Microsoft's Internet Explorer with more than 15% and even more in Europe.
But the appeal of Firefox has changed a lot and it has become a big player on the market. The official cooperation with Google generated a lot of revenue. Will the Google money spoil Firefox or will it be always a wise alternative to IE? Find out more in this article. |

Today I've been surfing around the Net and I've found the latest news from the international browsers market. Below you'll find the latest results for browsers international market share. The stats are for September 2007.
Well, I've got some good news! It's the second month in a row that Internet Explorer is loosing its market share. This month it decreased by 0.82%. This browser is still the leader with a 77.86% market share. Well I hope that this will change soon and people will start looking for an alternative.
How is Mozila Firefox doing? Yeah all Firefox fans have a reason to be happy. Firefox increased its market share by 0.32% and is now the second most popular browser worldwide with a market share of 14.88%. Maybe it will exceed 15% soon. Who knows, I keep my fingers crossed!
Safari is doing also a good job. The Apple browser increased its market share by 0.39% and reached 5% in total. Good job and let's hope that this browser expands worldwide as well.
Opera continued to lose its market share. It dropped by 0.01% and has a total market share of 0.87%. Even the release of Opera 9.5 Alpha didn't help.
Opera Mini managed to gain some market share. There was an increase of 0.12%. This browser has a market share of 0.39%.
And finally Netscape managed to increase its market share by 0.01% from 0.71% to 0.72%.
That's it.
